Maze

The Milky Way Maze covers some 3000 square meters, is a "first" for North Devon, one of the biggest in the South West and the only maze in the UK within an operating railway line.

Over 2,300 quick growing trees (Thuja Plicata Altrovirons) were planted in 2006 and are now growing well. We had a few problems in the first year, which meant we had to re-plant quite a few new trees. We’re still not sure what happened but the new trees are now catching up with the original ones. Fingers crossed, we'll soon be able to really get you lost - at the moment you can cheat by looking over the trees!

The Maze has been designed to be disabled-friendly – which provides an additional bonus. Not only can wheelchair-users easily negotiate the twists and turns, but parents can take small children around in buggies!
