Charity Auction for Vultures

Posted on 27th August, 2015

The colourful painting below of a King Vulture is due to be auctioned off on the 5th September 2015 at the International Centre for Birds of Prey in Newent, Gloucestershire, to help raise money for the protection of vultures.

Vultures have suffered catastrophic decline in recent years due to poisoning by ivory poachers, farmers trying to protect their livestock, electrocution on power lines and collisions with wind turbines.

The painting is being kindly donated by David Ramping of the North Devon Bird of Prey Centre at The Milky Way Adventure Park to help raise vital funds to help protect these magnificent birds.

Last year a painting of a African White Backed Vulture was raffled for VulPro UK, a UK based vulture charity trying to raise awareness of the plight of the Vulture and raised over £2000.
