Falcon blown away!

Posted on 7th August, 2023 in Media

This young Saker falcon (Kalif) was given to David our falconer, in winter 2022 as the falcon had completely refused to hunt.

This August has seen several windy days, and during a gale, he was blown downwind and got himself lost. His GPS tracker turned off half a mile out to sea from Clovelly and Dave feared Kalif been blown into sea and drowned.

Dave didn’t give up, and through the rain and gales he visually tracked him down and finally caught up with him after six hours (of stress!) in the forest near Bude. See the look of relief on Dave's face!
